Position Overview
The position requires a high level technical expert that will assist in the redesign of networks among the customers sites to provide a more secure and reliable network which supports the delivery of critical health and human service benefits to the public. This technician will perform project-related design work, troubleshoot problems, and lead efforts as needed. Broad knowledge of networks, applications, and network management and analysis tools are required.
Mandatory Technical Qualifications
§ 5 years minimum experience as a lead in general data communications design, implementation, and support. Expertise must cover TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, spanning tree protocol, MPLS, VLANS, IPSEC tunneling, and high availability configurations.
§ 3 years direct experience in managing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
§ 1 year direct experience in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting load balancing devices. (i.e. Cisco CSS, GSS, ACE, F5, Netscaler)
§ 3 years direct experience in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Juniper (Netscreen) firewalls.
§ 3 years direct experience in utilizing Sniffer protocol analyzer/Netscout Infinistream to troubleshoot application and network problems.
§ 3 years experience in creating network documentation and application data flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
Desirable Experience
§ Direct working experience in designing or implementing data communication networks that include high availability and disaster recovery.
§ Direct working experience as lead network designer in large scale application development and deployments projects.
§ Direct working experience in diagnosing and solving problems with Juniper Netscreen 208, 500, 550, and 2000 products.
§ Direct working experience in diagnosing and solving problems with Cisco CSS and GSS devices.
§ Direct working experience in diagnosing and solving problems with Nortel switches.
§ Direct working experience in diagnosing and solving problems utilizing the Sniffer protocol analyzer/Netscout Infinistream.
§ Direct working experience with VPN tunnel configuration on Juniper (Netscreen) firewalls and in diagnosing and solving interoperability problems.
§ Direct working experience in diagnosing and solving problems utilizing Compuware ClientVantage Agentless Monitoring products.
§ Direct working experience in diagnosing and solving problems utilizing the Compuware ApplicationVantage products.
§ Direct working experience in creating network logical and physical diagrams and documenting application data flow using Microsoft Visio.
§ Working experience providing technical guidance and training to other staff.
§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
